In order to improve both my own writing and that of the work I edit for my clients, I continue to take classes to build on my knowledge and skillset. I recently completed this intensive, 4-week online course offered through Seattle’s renowned Hugo House and taught by award-winning novelist Scott Driscoll. The class focused on using rich details to give the reader a full description of the physical world of the people and places in a piece (outside) but also the inner thoughts and personalities of the characters (in). The skills I learned can be applied to both fiction and non-fiction.
